Logan Speyrer Makes Professional MMA Debut with Standout Performance

This past weekend on Friday October 04, 2019 Team Juggernaut’s Logan Speyrer made his professional MMA debut on the Bayou Fighting Championship stage. The young bantamweight standout was ready to make the jump to the pro level and did not disappoint. It only took the “Mattress Monkey” 1:47 seconds to show he’s ready for the step-up in competition.

Dynamic Professional Debut Performance

Prior to Speyrer’s professional debut, he earned an impressive 5-1 amateur record with his only loss being a fight of the year candidate to now professional bantamweight Abram Sellers at Bayou FC 34 in January 2019. All five of his victories came by KO/TKO or submission. He put a cap on his amazing amateur career with a comeback victory in his finale bout winning by submission at Atlas Fights 36 in July 2019 defeating a tough Dejuan Robinson. Speyrer’s opponent for his professional debut was Tyler Listi of Headkicks MMA based out of Lafayette, Louisiana. Listi has been a pro for a few years and was coming off of a first round knockout victory at Bayou FC 40 in August 2019. Speyrer landed a series of punches which sent Listi reeling for the fence. This marked the beginning of the end as Speyrer locked in a Muay Thai plum and began to throw a series of heavy knees sending blood spattering to the front row cageside tables.

After breaking the plum, Speyrer delivered a series of strikes that dropped Listi. Upon returning to his feet, Listi got caught in a standing guillotine choke. Speyrer decided to let the guillotine go and threw a series of heavy elbows before re-engaging the plum and landing more devastating knees. After about 45 seconds of uninterrupted knees and strikes, the referee stepped in to call a halt to the action.

Bright Future

Starting off 1-0 is a great way to kick off your professional career. Speyrer’s endurance looked to improve as it has from fight to fight. After the bout Speyrer recognized his “gas tank” as being something he needs to work on though in this bout he looked amazing. Speyrer has heavyweight striking in a bantamweight body. If Speyrer continues his hard work and dedication toward the sport and lifestyle, it will only be a matter of time before the rest of the world finds out what we already know on the Gulf Coast.
